The DiDkA Pledge

One of the key elements of DiDkA is the DiDkA Pledge. It is fundamentally a code of conduct that we are asking retailers to adhere to.

We are keen to make the Pledge public, so all members can see what we are trying to get retailers to agree to.

By signing up to the DiDkA pledge responsible retailers will be become part of the campaign for diet drink awareness.

By signing the DiDkA pledge retailers agree to be aware of the dangers that full sugar drinks can cause, when incorrectly served. In doing this, they will be provided with relevant educational information from DiDkA, to enable to them to make reasonable and appropriate changes to ensure that diet drinks are served correctly, and educate members of staff in a similar fashion.

Reasonable and appropriate changes include:

Retailers also agree to condemn the highly dangerous practice of switching full-sugar and regular pipes on pump dispensers for 'entertainment' of the serving staff, or purposely serving the incorrect drink

Whilst retailers will take steps to ensure that diet drinks can be purchased in confidence, DiDkA understands that occasional mistakes are unavoidable, but by signing up to the DiDkA Pledge, retailers are agreeing that mistakes will be appropriately rectified
